In my chemistry class I was assigned to create a comic strip in which a character would encounter two physical and two chemical changes. The point of this project was to further my understanding of physical and chemical changes so I could further apply that knowledge in the class.
Project Reflection
I believe that out of all of my 21st Century Skills, the one that best represents this project is the Information Skill. I had to apply what information I knew about physical and chemical changes, then display that knowledge in a creative and digestible way. This proved that I understood the content, and knew how to recognize it in real situations. Using the information skill for this project only furthered my ability to process and apply information.
Out of all the elements of this project, I am most proud of the drawings I created for the comic. A lot of effort went into that aspect alone, and I am quite satisfied with the result. Despite my satisfaction, the effort put into the illustrations also proved to be my down fall. It was very difficult to get the comic done within the time constraints due to the extra effort I put in. If I could do this project again, I would work on my time management. I was given roughly a week to complete the comic, and I ended up doing the whole thing in the two days before it was due. This just made the whole thing very stressful, but at the very least, I was able to get it done.
In the past, I had learned a bit about physical changes, but my understanding of such topics was only expanded upon with this project. In terms of the future, I am sure being able to recognize physical and chemical changes will be useful.
